After seeing his parents and grandmother struggle to navigate existing voice AI tools, founder Marcus Arcabascio developed Tiina with a simpler, conversation-first interface.
NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / October 12, 2026 / Tiina has launched an iPhone and iPad app designed to make AI for seniors more accessible through voice-based interactions. Built to support aging in place and independent living for seniors, Tiina allows older adults to ask everyday questions in natural language and receive spoken responses without needing a caregiver to initiate each interaction.

Founder Marcus Arcabascio saw the opportunity after introducing voice AI to his parents, who are in their 60s, and his 90-year-old grandmother. Although they found the conversations useful, they struggled to access the technology again without assistance. Navigating model selections, buttons and menus created barriers to continued use.
While some caregivers already use AI as part of their caregiving routines, many older adults have yet to adopt chatbots themselves. Tiina was developed to make conversational AI more accessible through an interface designed around simplicity: users can tap, ask a question in everyday language and listen to a spoken response.
For an older adult at home, this could mean sharing a photo of a confusing letter, asking for an explanation and following up with additional questions at their own pace. Questions about phone settings or potentially suspicious correspondence can also become conversations that help users better understand information before deciding what to do next.
Tiina can remember shared interests and family names across conversations. Users can review, correct or delete these memories. Named after Arcabascio’s mother, who helps care for his grandmother, the app does not provide caregiver dashboards or conversation reports to relatives.
Tiina became available on the U.S. App Store in September 2026. The app offers a seven-day free trial followed by a paid subscription. As with other AI tools, Tiina can make mistakes and is not a medical provider or emergency service.
